Let Somebody Love You

(working title)

Film 124 pages in Final Draft

Mini-Series 239 pages in Final Draft

LOGLINE: America’s most adored daughter of famous rock stars prefers surface relationships after losing her father, until she meets a man that shares her grief, yet is unavailable, catapulting her into a decade long passionate affair that may block her from ever experiencing true love.

Angel is the kind and beautiful daughter of two of the most famous rock stars and lovers of the 70’s, who often hides her identity to have a "normal" life. Geoff is an average guy, who watched Angel grow up thru the media and lose her father at the same time he did. When life unexpectedly brings them together, their bodies are drawn to each other by an undeniable sexual attraction, while their souls simultaneously find solace and understanding by the bond of losing their fathers as young teens.

Instantly they find themselves on a journey of self-exploration, realization, and sexual freedom like never before!

The problem? Neither is available. To Angel's surprise, Geoff is engaged. Angel is afraid to love and lose again like she did with her father, so she dates casual "safe" men, making Geoff a seemingly viable option.

For over a decade they battle their appetite for one another, while living separate lives, all fueled by affair after passionate affair, marriages, children, success, and loss. Over the years they find solitude and romance together at Angel's beach front Malibu estate, where they can hide from reality, being lost in their love and lust.

Tormented by her own demons, Angel's normally all-accepting alcoholic mother is fighting her own internal battle with supporting Angel's affair, wanting to see her only child with an "available" man who can truly love her daughter. So when Angel finds the "perfect" man Blake, she begs her to put Geoff, her strongest weakness in her past for good.

Will Angel listen to her beloved mother and let somebody love her before it's too late, or will she stay "safe" in her affair, awaiting a day that may never come?

This film would appeal to ALL audiences over 13. It explodes with adventure, sex, romance, beauty, infidelity, and a deep look at how we must find the courage to love again after loss. Thru the lead Angel, it also explores "loving the one you can't have" as a "safety net" to prevention of being emotionally hurt, yet living in a self-induced lonely hell.

IT'S: The Notebook meets The Affair

This screenplay needs to be updated prior to sending. I felt it valuable to show I CAN/WILL complete more than 1 screenplay!

Through the real memories, Rose realizes she is not alone, because ALL her friends throughout their single adventures, had at one time dated a man they did not know was married!

In the end, Rose looks deep within to choose between: Revenge or Acceptance, Love or Vengeance.

This film would especially appeal to the same audience as the highly successful films such as: "The Other Woman" and "Sex and the City." Although it is based on tales of revenge, ultimately it teaches us the POWER of forgiveness for our own soul.
